How do I get to the location of the retreat? To get to Ein Gedi you'll need to fly into Tel Aviv, Israel Ben Gurion International airport (a 4-5 hour flight from Amsterdam, Paris, London and major German airports). From the airport it is a one and a half hour tranfer to the resort. Check the travel FAQ for more details.
Will I be able to enjoy massage, reflexology and other alternative treatments? Most certainly. The Ein Gedi Country Hotel team of health therapists will be at your service to provide a range of spa treatments, such as warm oil ayurvedic massage, hot stone and Swedish massage, reflexology, reiki, peeling and even a special, individual herbal steam chamber. The treatments aid the detox process and are, of course, a very popular personal treat. Please note these treatments incur an extra charge and are not part of the Juice Fast Detox programme. Treatments can be booked during your stay or in advance via Martine Tark (

Do I have to participate in all parts of the programme? No. Except for the juice drinking, which is the foundation of the programme, you choose what parts you want to participate in. The programme was designed to support and enhance the detox process and we’d love to see you take an active part, but we’ll all understand if you just want some quiet time for yourself.
Am I likely to experience strong emotions during the detox? Possibly. Deep buried emotions could resurface as part of the toxins that will be flushed out of your system. Our team and often your co-fasters will be there at all times to listen, support, offer a shoulder (and a tissue!) and counsel. Acknowledging these emotions and letting them go could transform your life.
Will I feel hungry during the week? You may feel slight hunger pangs during the first day or two, but as your body adjusts to the lightness of the juice diet, all hunger will be replaced by an uplifting feeling of lightness and purity. The juices are served every 2-3 hours, juice portions are generous and you can have extra if you feel the need. Our experience has shown that participants find the fasting surprisingly easy to cope with. Ein Gedi's hot and dry weather is a great help, too.
Is there medical help on site? Yes. The Ein Gedi resort guests have access to a nurse 24 hours a day and to a medical doctor in the evenings. The Ein Gedi Kibbutz, adjacent to the resort, also runs a day outpatient clinic. All medical services incur an extra charge.
Is there internet at the hotel? Yes. If you bring your own laptop, there is free WiFi in the lobby (but no internet connection in the rooms). Otherwise, for a small fee there is a computer terminal in the lobby for guest use.
Is there mobile phone network coverage at the hotel? Yes. Reception quality may vary depending on your network provider, but generally you won't have a problem using your cellular phone.
Is the Dead Sea a danger zone? No. The Dead Sea is a remote and scarcely populated area, far from all conflict zones.
