Avital began her professional career studying mathematics and computer science. She specialised in system analysis and was responsible for the design, development, testing and implementation of information systems for the Israeli Broadcasting Authority, private broadcasting agencies and the Israeli Audience Research Board. In 1994 Avital decided to change direction and completed a yoga teachers’ training course, in parallel studying Zen Buddhism meditation and Kabbalah healing. Realising her true call was helping people, she added more holistic and natural healing tools to her knowledge bag and majored in naturopathy, reflexology, aromatherapy and Bach flower remedies at Israel’s leading natural health College, Medisin.
In her naturopathy studies Avital specialised in water and juice fasting as a physical and emotional healing tool. She also developed a long term interest in Detox Yoga, a gentle form of yoga which helps to cleanse and release toxins long held in the body.
“When you fast, every day is different. With every passing day different organs are healed, different systems are cleansed, old and negative thoughts and emotions pass through the consciousness and leave it for ever. Every morning I meet my body anew and it is purer, lighter, more flexible and grateful for the effort I put into it to cleanse and maintain it. Fasting is an uplifting experience – for body, mind and soul”.
Avital owns the Yogatime portal (www.yogatime.co.il), an internet magazine on yoga and natural health including a wide range of relevant features from around the world and advertising boards for yoga and pilates teachers, products and events.
Avital lives in Israel with her husband and four children.
